Gruppo Gamma Vanguard MKIII Bonze

REGGIE JOSEPH AUGUST 4, 2017

I am in awe of the shape of the case, the whole finish and execution of the whole design.

Hi Guys!
I got my new watch, the GRUPPO GAMMA VANGUARD MKIII N19B Bronze Diver Watch from THE WATCH BOUTIQUE-Bahrain and I must mention that I am immensely thankful to them for being absolutely professional and helping me with all the information I needed before pulling the trigger on this one. I am sharing my experience after getting this watch and my review about it.

THE PACKAGE:

As I opened the package that the watch came in, it was this real cool watch travel case pillow embossed with the brand name. The case is quite impressive and of good quality and easy to fit in your baggage for travels. What I found inside the case was the warranty card printed with the stylish GRUPPO GAMMA Skull logo, an additional leather strap for the watch, a screwdriver tool to change the straps and yes the fabulous watch. Two straps with the watch, both excellent quality leather straps with GRUPPO GAMMA signed bronze buckles and as this is my very first bronze diver watch, my excitement was at peak. The whole package screams quality and delivers customer delight.

THE CASE & THE ELEMENTS:

The case is made of phosphor bronze, which gives a reddish hue effect. The size of the case measures 44mm excluding the crown and 54mm lug-to-lug. The lug width is 24mm. The mechanical style crown is a screw in crown and mentions GAMMA and III symbolizing the model [MKIII]. From all the other fascinating elements of the case is the bezel, which is a 120-click unidirectional rotating bezel with each click sound so crisp and precise. The case back is steel secured with 6 screws and bears the brand name, sapphire as the glass type, the serial number off the watch and 200m as the water resistance. I am in awe of the shape of the case, the whole finish and execution of the whole design.

THE DIAL THE FACE:

The color of the dial caught most of my attention, ‘petroleum blue’ is the colour and it is subtle yet vibrant and below the 12h marker is the print in white GRUPPO GAMMA. The dial is a sandwich dial, which is a 2-layered dial with Roman markers and hour and minute hands coated with BGW9 luminova. When I checked the lume first I was looking at that Roman hour markers all lite up so radiant. The arrow-like design red seconds hand is an appealing  contrast to the blue dial and sweeps swift and smooth. The glass covering this stunning dial is a double-domed sapphire crystal that is anti-reflective coated on the underside. This design is well co-ordinated.

THE INSIDE:

Inside this watch beats one of the most reliable Japanese movements, the Miyota Cal. 90S5 beating at 28800 bph. For me to comment on the accuracy is way too early as I have had the watch just 2 days and +- is always understandable and moreover I am more engaged with the other fascinating features of this watch.

Putting pieces together, this watch is a fantastic bronze diver watch and saying it sounds cliché however the fact is this watch is a great value for your money. If there is one aspect that I would want more from this watch would be if there was a version with a 42 mm case, as I do not have big wrists. However, that did not make any difference in my want for this watch. Kudos to GRUPPO GAMMA!

Thank You For Reading.
