Ollech & Wajs (Switzerland) Ref. OW Ocean Graph Ltd Ed. – Soprod Cal. P092 Newton Precision

“Diver’s Watches Facebook Group is known for its exciting collaborations with popular watch brands, focusing on historic watches in small, limited edition quantities. This time, we offer our take on the OW Ocean Graph, a model which is a tribute to the 1968 Ollech & Wajs Ocean Graph and all the dive watches that formed the highly respected ‘Precision’ line. These watches were equipped with decompression bezels, an essential instrument for the safety of any diver venturing into deep water. This particular edition of the Ocean Graph is powered by OW’s bespoke Soprod Newton Precision P092 automatic calibre, a movement at the forefront of modern Swiss watchmaking. Since this formidable movement came into the OW line up a little over two years ago, it has been a resounding success and praise from customers has been emphatic, with many claiming it is simply the most accurate movement they have ever owned. It should come as no surprise as, not only is the Soprod calibre independently tested for dependability and durability at the internationally renowned Laboratoire Dubois in Chaux-de-Fonds, but it was also subjected to OW’s own stringent testing program. Of the 9 movements, from 8 different Swiss manufacturers, evaluated, the Soprod Newton outperformed them all. The movement is housed in a 39.56 mm diameter 316L stainless steel case, manufactured in the Swiss Jura. The OW Ocean Graph is a compact diving watch, with a water resistance of 1000 meters, which is tested under a pressure of 120ATM. Its water tightness is ensured by a reinforced case back, a double-thickness case, a 5.60mm thick, extra-strong, domed sapphire crystal, and a special screw-down crown with four gaskets. It is equipped with a decompression bezel, allowing divers to calculate decompression times. The decompression bezel of the OW Ocean Graph has three concentric zones. The most central zone indicates the elapsed dive time, from 0 to 60 minutes (A). It also contains indications for the maximum depth of the dive, carried out in meters (B). In the intermediate zone are marked the dive times (C) for which decompression will be necessary, according to the depth indicated in the most central zone (B). The outermost zone of the bezel indicates the decompression times, in minutes (D), that the diver must respect at a depth of three meters, calculated according to the depth (B) and total duration of the dive (A).”
